We just received a call from a homeowner that was so distraught about a sale date set for this Friday he could not concentrate….that’s a normal reaction to the reality of a Sale Date looming in just a couple of days.
Here is the scenario of todays call that is prompting me to get your attention. This happens to homeowners everyday and we know it, just don’t know how to help homeowners avoid it…so I’m asking for your help! Fact: 88% of homes that go to Foreclosure are never listed by a real estate agent.
Homeowner calls today with a sale date set for Friday morning, this Friday as in today is Tuesday. After a lengthy conversation we hung up and went our separate ways. The homeowner is not in a position financially to file a BK to halt/slow down the sale date. The homeowner has never, ever contacted a real estate agent about alternatives to foreclosure. We offered to make a call in an effort to discuss the lender holding off on the sale date if the property was listed…and that is really up to the lender at this point they usually don’t hold off. But, sadly the homeowner was not emotionally ready to accept the fact that he was going to have to make a move.
It’s scary, it’s devastating, it’s down right humiliating to be in that situation. I know, I’ve been in that situation.
