I can’t believe it’s been 7 years this December. October always brings back memories…because that’s when we realized there was no way we were going to come up with the money the mortgage company wanted to stop a foreclosure sale. Wow, was that an emotional holiday season! Giving thanks and counting our blessings was not as easy as it had been in the past, although we never lost faith.
Kris and I have realized that lifestyle changes were necessary, and, as crazy as it may sound we are much more content these days than when we had the “mini mansion” “new cars” and all the “Debt” that comes with those luxuries.
As we move into the holiday season, I’m hearing anxiety in our clients voices that are receiving notices from their mortgage carriers. Many of the loan modifications are resetting and monthly payments are going up, way up.
If I can share anything with you, it would be that it’s difficult to let go of your home, believe me, I know. But trust me, there is a freedom that will come to you once you’ve mentally accepted that it’s what you have to do.
If your getting notices in the mail and calls from your lender that are causing sleepless nights, think about calling a realtor and getting that house listed for sale. If your in California, we can help you, if your in another state we will help you locate a great agent.
You will be free to enjoy your family and the holidays without the worries of a foreclosure date looming.
In most cases, you will be able to stay in your home during the next several months while the short sale is processed and you may even be eligible for some cash through Government Programs to help you cover moving expenses.
It’s easier said than done, I know, we prolonged our move for nearly two years and depleted our savings before we accepted the fact the house we were trying so hard to keep was actually the very thing that was causing most of our problems…
